"We are very pleased with our purchase of the Slab Crab. At times we use it everyday. It works great on sidewalks and driveways. Removing bridge decks is now a one-man job compared to a 2 to 3 man job. The Slab Crab gives me an advantage over the other contractors."
Greg Perrett, Perrett Construction Ltd., Valentine, NE
"We use the Slab Crab 3 to4 times a year removing bridge decks. Many bridge removals are made over water or wetlands that cannot have concrete dropped in them. We saw the decks and remove the concrete with the Slab Crab Bucket. Most of the time we are able to give the slabs to a landowner. Previously we demolished decks with a wrecking ball, cut the rebar with torches, hauled the rebar off to a scrap yard and then had concrete to dispose of. The Slab Crab greatly reduces labor and disposal costs."
GMS Concrete, Phoenix, AZ
"We use the Slab Crab 2 –3 times a week to assist with repair of city sidewalk and damaged driveways. The traditional method of a jackhammer was time consuming. It has allowed us to demolish concrete without hiring another crew. The Slab Crab allows you to increase your production time without increasing cost."
Mark A. Marchi, G. Marchi & Son, Columbus, OH
"Dear Kenco,

Our firm purchased its first Slab Crab last year. We were wrestling with the removal of 72,000 square feet of sidewalk for a wheelchair ramp project. We had the job and we had to get it done. An advertisement appeared in a construction publication featuring your Slab Crab attachment mounted on a skid steer. It looked like it might work. We were hesitant at first, but your sales department assured us that if we didn't like it, we could return it. We figured since we had no risk, we'd give it a try.

The purchase of the Slab Crab was undoubtedly one of our best purchases. In fact, we purchased another Slab Crab for a mini excavator. Our Slab Crabs are used everyday. One of the reasons they are used so often is because of their construction. They are built tough... and so simple....no bearings, no nuts, no bolts, no screws, no grease fittings. Zero maintenance. After removing over 100,000 square feet of concrete, only the paint is scratched. We use the attachments mainly to remove sidewalk for wheelchair ramp construction. Our firm recently constructed over 1500 ramps, and all the removal was done with preciseness by the Slab Crabs.

The advantages are numerous. On the labor side, we estimate that one man with the attachment can remove enough sidewalk to keep a form and pour crew busy for three days. That is a conservative estimate. Production continues to get better every day. The removal is quick and clean. Time to form and prep is cut because there are no backhoe ruts to fill and there is less re-grading and fill material required. Another advantage is the size of pieces the crabs handle. No more breaking pieces to load into a conventional bucket. Another advantage is the cost of the attachment. The cost is much less than a jackhammer, hydraulic breaker, or drop hammer would be. In our application, comparing any other method of sidewalk removal would be a waste of time.

Thank you, Kenco"

Pat Johnston, Bowen Engineering Corporation, Seymour, IN
"Dear Kenco,

This is in response to a survey sent to us by Kenco with regards to the Pipe Hook currently in use on Bowen Engineerings' Seymour project. It is our first experience with your products. I am including some photos of the hook in action laying C-76 60 inch RCP. We are pleased with the hook and have seen greatly reduced hook/set cycle times during the laying operation. Safety with the hook compared to traditional methods of C-76 pressure class RCP i.e.: chains or steel cables is much better. This is our first experience using the hook. All that is required to place the pipe in the ditch is to connect a 15 foot shackle to the excavator. Our placement method up to this time has been to use a rigging chain 3/4 inches in diameter and weighing in at about 300 pounds, a difficult method to say the least. Steel chokers are another often-used method. Balancing and removing with these methods are much more time-consuming. Time is money on the site and we have seen time improvements of 60% for a hook/set cycle. I would rate the Kenco Pipe Hook a 10 for setting pressure class RCP. I would not recommend the hook to other contractors because I believe it can provide us with a competitive edge."
Gary Yaklin, Durocher Dock and Dredge, Cheboygen, MI
"Our project required us to dredge the bottom of the Saint Mary River. We mounted a Komatsu PC1000 on a barge and called Kenco. We ordered a long stick to enable us to work at thirty foot depth...also ordered a HardRock Coupler to enable us to quickly change attachments...we changed numerous attachments including rippers, flat and v-bottom buckets, a six yard bucket, and an underwater hydraulic hammer. Kenco products were excellent. I would recommend Kenco to anyone in search of an attachment supplier."
D'Annunzio and Sons, South Plainfield, NJ
"The HardRock™ Grapple works great for our highway demolition jobs."
Keller Crushing and Screening, Tunkhannock, PA
"We use the Kenco HardRock™ Grapple for sorting and loading rip rap up to 48 inches square. We also use it to load saw rock cubes, which can weigh up to 15 tons each. We pick up only the rocks we want, and we can load a truck in half the time that it used to take. The quality of the grapple is very high, the welding is excellent."
McAllister Construction Company, Inc., Yardley, PA
"The Kenco WedgeBolt Coupler made our lives much easier... we could change from a hydraulic hammer to a digging bucket in approximately five minutes... It is my opinion that the Kenco WedgeBolt Coupler System is one of the best investments our company has ever made."
C & C Trucking and Excavating, Akron, NY
"We use a Kenco HardRock Coupler almost every day while working on water lines, electric lines, and septic systems. Bucket changes can be made quickly and easily."
Dings Excavating, Inc., West Branch, MI
"We use the Kenco HardRock Coupler every day. The real advantage is that we don't experience the loss of breakout force that is associated with other couplers. The HardRock Coupler is lighter, plus, we don't have to purchase pins for each attachment. It is very easy to use and saves us considerable time to our previous method of unpinning and repinning."
BAT Construction, Florida Keys
"The Kenco Concrete Pulverizer went through chunks of concrete from an old motel we were tearing down in the Florida Keys very nicely. It ate it up in much less time that we had anticipated."
J.D. Posillico, Farmingdale, NY
"We bought a HardRock bucket for our concrete processing plant two years ago. That bucket works ten hours a day in concrete rubble, and it's still holding up great."
